Immerse yourself in ‘space matter’ from the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulas (M8 and M20, respectively). This is not my first encounter with this beautiful pair, but through the knowledge and techniques I have learnt in imaging deep sky objects over the past year, this image captures more detail than my first attempt (See link below for my blog on Sky Candy). As a reminder, this pair is located some 4,300 lights years away from earth and sits in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way Galactic Core.
