Our journey takes us to our very own daytime star, the Sun. This of course is a new dimension of photographing the skies for me, and I am happy with the results of my first try at capturing the surface of the Sun. On the day of the capture, the surface of the Sun was active with prominences, sunspots, plages, granules, solar flares, and filaments. The full solar disk below was captured with a Coronado PST paired with GPCAM 130. The close up featured images used the same equipment, however added a 3x Barlow lens to increase the magnification. Each image is a stack of the best 25% of 700 frames.
