About DGA

“The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalms 19:1) has become real for me. I have always been amazed at the night sky and how mysterious and mystical it appears on cloudless nights. In recent years I took particular interest in the various phases of the moon, so much so that I attempted to capture compositions with halos and even eclipses. I was stunned at the images I captured and did not hesitate to share them with friends, who were equally as captivated as I was.

Then I discovered how to apply the manual settings on my Canon 77D DSLR camera to low light imaging. This allowed me to frame photos of the moon that displayed some of the details. Again, I thought I had arrived. Little did I know, photographing the night sky – stars, planets, and deep sky objects (DSO), required discipline, patience, commitment, and obtaining the appropriate imaging equipment used to capture amazing and detailed photos of DSO as seen on online sites and other social media platforms.

I was drawn to research the discipline of astrophotography. What happened next was an enthusiasm to learn how to capture various targets in the sky and create a unique story of how awesome the night sky is around the British Virgin Islands. This is and will continue to be a learning experience for me, and it is my hope that you would share this journey and experience with me from your interactions on this website. I expect to learn from you and to share with you what I have learned about astrophotography.

Remember to look up and experience an amazing universe!
