Moon Lovers Episode 9

Waxing Gibbous Moon at 85% taken on 18.08.2021. This is a 5-panel mosaic. Mosaics are becoming my best buddies. They allow the opportunity to create high resolution images. Since my experience in Episode 8, I have understood the concept of debayering, and therefore this is the first mineral moon mosaic shot in RAW using the dedicated astro camera. It is definitely the method to use. Next I will be trying to capture a full moon using the moon a mosaic. Stay tuned.

  1. Nice! Very interesting color treatment and good detail. I like zooming in around the big crater Copernicus. (Did I remember the name right?)
    Good job! 👍😀

    1. Thank you my friend. This is my first successful waxing mineral moon mosaic. I am a let of the Astrophotography FB group…this is where I have learnt much of what I know. There was quite a lengthy discussion about color representation on the moon. But according to theory, this is true colors of the moon 😊.
