The Milky Way Galactic Core boasts a concentration of stars. This image gives an idea of really how many stars make up the core; but just when you thought you have an appreciation for the numbers stars “burning” from within the core, THINK again. The literature suggests that there are some 100 to 400 billion stars in the Milky Way, with an equal number of planets. Incomprehensible!
