The Eagle Project

Itโ€™s Springtime and it marks the return of the Milky Way core and its plethora of nebulous regions. Yayyy ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ. This is my first project in the Milky Wayโ€™s core of the season. Meet the Eagle Nebula (M16 or Messier 16) and itโ€™s surrounding nebulous regions. M16 is located some 7,000 lights years away from Earth in the constellation of Serpens.

This project initiation photo is a modest 35 minutes of integrated exposure. My goal is to complete this project with at least 10 hours worth of integration time. Stay tuned to my blog for updates on this project and remember to look up and experience an amazing universe.

  1. Nice photo! Good color, a lot of texture and quite a bit of detail. I think you said you were going to keep working on this and maybe have another showing even more structure. I’ll be looking forward to that! Good job and clear skies!

  2. Nice job, nice color and texture. Pretty good detail! I will be waiting for more images if you think you can bring out even more detail!

    1. Oh for sure. I have grasped the concept that in order for photos to be great, the more integration time is always best. I learnt that with the Christmas Tree Nebula ๐Ÿ˜Š. But Iโ€™m glad itโ€™s Milky Way season again. Lists of targets on my agenda. But I am taking my time to capture at least 10 hrs worth of data.

    1. Thank you so much. Iโ€™ve been waiting all year for this. But stay tuned. I will keep capturing and adding more data to this. Iโ€™m expecting more details to come out.
